Time is closing in, and right now we’re in the office patiently waiting to release the demo of Little Misfortune. It will be an introduction to the main characters, gameplay and the darkly mysterious world of Misfortune. Are you ready?

We are super eager to see how it is going to be recieved. And very nervous, too, but we have been working with much love and we are just happy to finally be able to share some of our work with you.

The demo is around 15 minutes and sets the tone for the whole game. It will be available for PC (Windows, Max, Linux) and you can download it onSteam for free. It can also be found on itch.io, where you can donate an optional amount of money if you want help us, the developers.

If you enjoy games with a gloomy atmosphere and even gloomier story, you should definitely give a shot to Fran Bow! This is a horror adventure about a little girl who got into a mental facility after the fierce murder of her parents. However, things get even creepier in the hospital. The medicine that is supposed to help Fran actually takes her to an eerie space filled with bizarre nightmares, where almost everything reminds of death and its ugliness. The heroine immerses herself in a strange world in which reality is frighteningly distorted each time. She is scared, but she approaches this with childlike spontaneity. It should be noted that sometimes her reaction to a half-rotten corpse, which can be considered as an interlocutor, seems too hypertrophied, even for a child who has experienced such a severe trauma. On the other hand, it is precisely this “positive” attitude of the girl to what is happening that gives the game a special charm.

But be that as it may, stubborn Fran decides to go all the way to her goal, and neither the hospital walls, nor the fear of monsters and blood-stained walls will stop her. And for this, the girl will need to deal with all the routine that falls on the share of adventure heroes, except with the difference that here all the locations exist in two versions, and you can switch between them by simply taking the treasured pill.

As in many other quests, in Fran Bow it is necessary to carefully examine the environment for useful things that will be needed to appease one of the characters or to fulfill an intermediate goal. This is not to say that serious difficulties can arise with the search – thorough and high-quality hand-drawn graphics eliminates the need to click miserably at random in the hope of finding the one you are looking for. The quest part is diluted with puzzles and, so to speak, action segments. The latter, apparently designed to revive the action, serve as a test for the speed of reaction and logical thinking.
The most exciting part of the game is its peculiar atmosphere. There are a lot of small details, insignificant at first glance, and it is them that form the appearance of the scene – whether we are talking about the hospital, the mansion that holds ominous secrets, or that other world. A lot can also be said about visual design: the authors sent their imagination into a free flight. You can enjoy this amazing game online and find out what awaits Fran in the end!
